Condition -
Some vending machines look great on the outside
but are rusty on the inside. Ask the seller for a pic of the cold compartment
floor. Does the seller state how cold the machine gets? Keep in mind
the a 40 degree machine will give you warm soda, the air temp has to
be colder than product temp! How old is the machine? Has it recently
been refurbished?
-
Capacity -
The
more a vending machine holds, the less you have to service it. Large capacity
and "3 deep" machines sell for more. It costs you the same (time &
gas, etc) to service a large capacity vending machine as a small one. Why go
weekly to pull out $100 when you can go every two weeks and pull out
$200?

Can it vend at different prices (Multi-Price)? Can it dispense
cans AND bottles? Multi-Price and Can/Bottle machines cost more
because they sell more at higher vend prices.

The Math -
Let's say you buy soda at 31c/unit and sell it for 60c/unit. If
the machine (Dixie 440) + shipping costs you $600 then you will
reach the break even point in only 4.7 refills, and that INCLUDES
the cost of the product you put into it! If the machine holds 368
cans then the B.E point is only 5.6 refills! It does not take long
at all to start making money.
